“ALTERNATIVE TO FEAR” co-authored with Shirley Henke was published with the help of California’s first lady, Nancy Reagan in 1975. This book gives a detailed explanation on how local residents in Orinda, CA (population 17,000) reduced crime 48% within 2 1/2 years without a local police department.
These are some of Stephanie’s illustrations from the book. The book was funded and distributed by the California Youth Authority throughout California. It sold to thousands of police departments and training centers in the US including the FBI.
